How to Identify Server Memory Models and Part Numbers
A readable module label is the safest starting point for a memory RFQ. Record the complete manufacturer part number and installed platform instead of relying on capacity or an abbreviated model description.
Procurement note: Selected first-party label images show representative memory markings; final model, capacity, speed, rank, condition and compatibility remain order-specific.
SECTION 01
Capture the whole label
Preserve manufacturer, full part number, capacity, memory type and speed text in one readable photo.
- Manufacturer
- Full part number
- Capacity
- Memory type and speed
SECTION 02
Separate manufacturer and OEM references
Keep the memory-maker part number distinct from Dell, HPE, Lenovo or other OEM spare references.
- Memory-maker number
- Dell reference
- HPE reference
- Other OEM reference
SECTION 03
Record rank and organization
Copy the printed rank/organization and do not infer missing characters from an unclear image.
- Printed rank
- Organization
- Readable image
- No inferred characters
SECTION 04
Add the installed platform
Include exact server model, current module, slot population and desired total capacity.
- Server model
- Current module
- Slot population
- Desired capacity
SECTION 05
Build the RFQ row
Include part number, quantity, condition target, acceptable alternatives and destination. Final availability, condition, test scope, packing, and quotation are confirmed per order.
- Part number
- Quantity
- Condition target
- Destination
Send a quotation-ready requirement
Include model or part number, quantity, target condition, destination country, and any compatibility or evidence requirements. Final availability, testing scope, lead time, warranty, packing, shipping, and commercial terms are confirmed per quotation.
